Poem: Come With Me, My Love

Come With Me, My Love

Come with me, my love
along the sandy shore.
We’ll watch the perfect sunset,
like none we’ve known before.
We’ll savor every moment,
enclosed in our embrace,
and watch the fading sun rays
until there is no trace!
We’ll walk the sun-warmed beaches,
until the evening’s chill
begins to turn us homeward…
with promises to fill.

Poem: Tomorrow

Tomorrow

Tomorrow brings a brighter day.
I’ll make it so!
I’ll put the pain - the hurt - away.
No one will ever know.

I’ll hide the tears,
and in their place will be a smile.
No one will guess my heart is breaking,
all the while.

And if I do this long enough
from day to day,
in time, the pain I’m feeling now
might, truly, go away!

…So, if wayward tears should fall,
please just pretend
you never saw the teardrops.
Please, be a friend.

I’ll toast tomorrow,
with my glass held high!
With new resolve,
I’ll give it my best try!

Poem: There Is No Road To You

There Is No Road To You

I have this helpless feeling…
that there is no road to you.
I’ve found no way to reach you,
no matter what I do.

All paths that I have taken
have just led me astray,
meandering ever onward,
more twisted, day by day.

Now, I’m lost, entangled,
in woods so dense and deep;
doubting if I’ll ever find
a place for restful sleep.

Still, I journey onward,
despite the barricades
that have, thus far, so limited,
the progress I have made.

All roads must have an ending.
This fact I do embrace,
while skirting all the pot holes
as I readjust my pace.

There you stay, beyond my reach
-no matter what I do,
or how much effort I extend-
no road leads to you.

Poem: You Might Awake

You Might Awake

You lock your door.
I find no key.
If love is there,
it’s kept from me!

No one can enter
into your space.
If you feel love,
you show no trace.

You guard your heart
in padded room -
as if my love
would spell your doom!

You might awake
one day and see,
your ‘Distance’ has taken
the best of me!

Stopping By Woods On Snowy Evening-Robert Frost

This is a poem I have loved for a long time!
by ROBERT FROST

Stopping By Woods On A Snowy Evening

Whose woods these are I think I know.
His house is in the village, though.
He will not see me stopping here
to watch his woods fill up with snow.

My little horse must think it queer
to stop without a farmhouse near;
between the woods and frozen lake,
the darkest evening of the year.

He gives his harness bells a shake,
to ask if there is some mistake.
The only other sound's the sweep
of easy wind and downy flake.

The woods are lovely, dark and deep,
but I have promises to keep,
and miles to go before I sleep,
and miles to go before I sleep.

NOTE:

Skye (and others who are interested) this is the title page in the booklet!
The whole book is just beautifully illustrated!

I just love it!

Although, not a Christmas book it has that FEEL of the
Christmas season and I always manage to read it a few times at that time of year!

Poem: Of What We Had Before

Of What We Had Before

Your door was open, for a while.
You let me in and welcomed me.
I thought it real, this love we‘d found.
But now you want to flee.

You shut me out. I know not why.
Indifference, now, has taken hold.
The warmness there so recently,
has been replaced by cold!

Those times are gone, I know not where.
I miss the fun, the loving, too…
the excitement of exploring life,
and sharing it with you.

Oh! To recapture what we’ve lost-
I’d give the world and even more,
just to relive those times with you-
of what we had before.

Poem: We Meet

We Meet

We meet, as is our custom.
We smile, as is our way.
From habit, hug each other,
though, little’s left to say.

Now our words are stifled-
sound phony - somewhat strange.
There’s no way to determine
just when it all did change.

We hold to what we‘ve treasured
and nurtured, for so long.
Too much we’ve each invested,
to have it all go wrong.

So, we hold and we coddle…
reluctant to let go.
Regardless…all is slipping.
This fact, we both do know!

The best is now behind us.
This truth, we both must see.
We’ve failed the test of time, Love.
And now, I’ll set you free!

Poem: The Long Motorcycle Ride

The Long Motorcycle Ride

The sky is blue
with piles of white and fluffy clouds,
as we travel in our semi-silent world.
Both lost in our own thoughts.
Do your thoughts wander too?
Are they in turmoil,
as are the clouds in such a whirl?
As we travel, with your back against my chest,
our bodies barely touching as we move…
the power of the motor is beneath us,
and holds us both as captives
and secure within this groove!
We travel, mile on silent mile,
with each our private thoughts to wander as they will;
with just the moving rhythm of the road…
calming, soothing yet so surreal.
And I wonder what you’re thinking…
what you feel.
Then … without a plan, and without
a conscious thought in mind I move to touch…
and find myself caressing your distant, silent face;
the one I’ve loved so very long, so much!
And it matters not
what roads we both have wandered,
or where our thoughts have lead us as they roam.
Our touching reconnects us-
and the love between us lingers and is rekindled-
as we make our way back home.

Poem: Unconditional Love & Gift of Love

...some thoughts on love...

Unconditional Love

Unconditional love is
God’s greatest gift!

No boundaries - no strings
- no conditions to be met.

No mystery -
no beginning - no end.

It just IS!

Just there in the NOW
and in each TOMORROW!

Undefeatable!

Gift of Love

It doesn’t take a lot to make me happy.
My desire is just to be with you.

No fancy plans - expensive- long vacations.
My only need is that you love me too!

My wish is just to satisfy your yearnings…
to be the one you’ve wanted for so long…

the one who MELTS you, as no one before has…
the one who fills your heart with sweetest song.

My desire is, simply, just to love you.
No hidden clauses. There’s no mystery.

The love I have is strong and freely given,
always there, a gift, to you from me.

Poem: My Nights Are Long And Lonely

Love and life...

My Nights Are Long And Lonely

My nights are long and lonely.
So many thoughts invading.
Rendering nil and useless,
my feeble stabs at sleep.

Thoughts scuttling, to and fro,
of all the words we’ve spoken…
yet, many more left dangling-
unborn - or buried deep.

Past phrases leap and frolic.
Unanswered questions linger.
Meanings lost in limbo,
the two of us have found.

Be still!
My weary heart
is needing rest and solace.
Still, endlessly, the memories
continue swirling ‘round!

At last, sleep is descending,
so deep that dreams can‘t follow.
…And, for the moment, resting…
the puzzle - You and Me.

This welcomed sleep I covet,
embrace it, seek to hold it!
For these fleeting hours,
I know that I am free.

Poem: If Only I Could

LOVE...

If Only I Could

All this I would give you
if only I could.
Warm sunshine to soothe you.
A walk in the wood.

Bird song to enchant you.
Soft breezes to caress.
Blue skies to calm you-
to relieve all your stress!

Good friends to surround you-
just those tried and true.
...And a love for a lifetime,
I'd offer to you.

Sweet music to uplift you,
as only it would.
All this I would give you,
if only I could.

Poem: My Secret Self

Pondering life...

My Secret Self

No one knows my secret self.
No one sees within my heart.
The public me is on display.
The secret me, I keep apart.

The public me may wear a smile,
and none can see she’s in disguise.
The secret me may bare her soul,
though no one sees her when she cries.

Poem: Patchwork Of My Life

Pondering life...

Patchwork Of My Life

Looking back upon my life
I see a crazy-quilt design.
Bits and pieces held in place
by a thread so very fine.

Each patch of the pattern shown
represents a span in time.
Different friends and other loves,
a separate life that once was mine!

Looking backward on the past
to recall a memory,
It seems foreign to me now,
as if that girl just wasn’t me!

Yet, it’s sad to realize,
the past will be forever gone.
What has happened must remain,
whether it was right or wrong.

Past mistakes cannot be changed,
but just complete their own design,
to the patchwork of your life,
to be reviewed from time to time!
