Poem: About Love

About Love

I once was a child, so long ago,
and made the mistakes of youth…
though I searched and longed for perfect love,
was slow recognizing the truth…

that love is an illusion.
It can't always be perfect and pure…
can never be all you dreamed of…
has no guarantee to endure.

In love, you may see many faces.
It’s true it sometimes can be grand
and may last throughout your lifetime;
so, capture it- if you can!

Don’t ever take love for granted,
for love is a living thing…
living and growing - or dying,
whichever the fates may bring.

I love it Junie!
I hope if you aren't presently still writing you'll think about picking up the pen and again.
You are very good.

Terrific poem! The only perfect love I know of is God's love. You and I are blessed to have wonderful husbands who love us and whom we love. We are also very blessed to have a loving family.
